TMS320F28379D: Does DMA supports CAN modules?

Is it possible to use DMA as receive buffer for Canbus communication. I want to use 2 Can module simultaneously. Are there any solution for these 2 problems? Thanks!

Hi Halil,

CAN on the 28379D is not connected to DMA (see figure 4-1 on the Technical Reference Manual SPRUHM8G). Can you share how you plan to use the 2 CAN modules? Maybe there is another alternate solution not involving the DMA.

Same CAN messages on two Canbus line, transmit/receive by 2 CAN module simultaneously. Cpu can execute 1 instruction @ time. Thus for releasing cpu I had planned to work with DMA.

Hi Halil,

For that application, seems like you can use both CPUs on the TMS320F28379D. Let one CPU1 control the first CAN module while the other CPU2 will control the second CAN module. There are several examples you can refer to in C2000Ware / ControlSuite that shows how the 2 CPUs may be used simultaneously.
