Compiler/TMS320F28027: DRV8305: InstaSPIN for rotor angle identification

Part Number: TMS320F28027

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

I've noticed a stutter in motor starting at certain rotor angles and very smooth startup rotation at others. I've seen this while using lab 3, 5 and 10.

Is there a way to identify the rotor angle using the watch window, at which the rotor rotation is smooth during startup?

How can this angle be saved as a user parameter to avoid a rotor stuttering during startup?

  • You might refer to section 14 of InstaSPIN user's (SPRUHJ1G) to improve the startup performance by enabling offsets recalibration, enable stator Rs recalibration, disable forced angle or tune the speed controller. But it's difficult to thoroughly eliminate the rotor stuttering during startup since the sensorless instaSPIN-FOC doesn't have the rotor initial position.
