Dear support,

We work with usb_bulk_example in TMS320F28379D/control card and all work perfect!

But in our board GPIO46(VBUS) and GPIO47(ID) are not connected to the USB PORT :

and as result of it PC doesn't recognize USB device. Our questions:

Could Bulk device work without GPIO46&GPIO47 pins connected? If yes what changes should we do in the USB driver that PC recognize the device properly?

Our schematic is the following: It is the same to control card except these two GPIOs.It seems that we have to do any changes in driver too. Could you please help us to understand where these changes should be done

What are the differences with those two GPIOs?

I do not believe there is anything you can do with the USB driver to make it get recognized. The enumeration process from the host PC requires compliance to the USB standard for a device to be recognized and enumerated.

It doesn't have to be GPIO46 and 47. You need to properly handle the VBUS and ID pins on the connector, as it is done in the controlCARD schematic.

Per usb standard we don't need to use VBUS and ID pins.

In the schematic, it looks like the VBUS pin is pulled low and the ID pin is pulled high. Have you tried this?

It appears your schematic should be fine.

Have you been able to connect using the controlCARD? Which USB driver are you using from what software release package? Are you using C2000Ware?

Hi Sabrina,

This makes me believe it is your schematic. If you run the same software on the controlCARd and on your board, this makes me think it is the board layout.

We use USB type A connector in our board. In control Card it is used micro A. Could it be a problem?

The type of connector should not matter. How the signals are laid out would matter. Not the type of connector.

Thanks, we will check schematic again. I thought that we have to add some changes in driver as result of GPIO 46 & 47 disconnected - eliminate its using.

Hi Sal,
We found the source of the problem. Our board doesn't include external clock AUXPLLCLK.

Is it possible to use internal clock instead of the External one?

Hi,

I believe you can use the internal oscillator as a source of the AUXPLL on the F2837x.

This should work. Just make sure AUXPLL is 60MHz.
