Dear All,

I need to do SCI BOOT loading Using TMS320F28377D development Board .As it is attached with the Dock Station.

Can Any one please guide me how to start .I have read the ControlSuite Examples,But unable to start because not getting how to communicate with

the Dock station/Board.Please help me out and suggest me if any clear steps are known to any one.

Sharma,

Are you using control card / docking station setup? Also, are you trying SCI BOOT in standalone option (or) emulation (with JTAG connected)?

Hi manoj,

I am using control card & docking station setup. I want to use in stand alone mode( With USb uart).

Please provide me the steps.

Ashrumochan,

In order to boot to SCI (when OTP isn't programmed) in standalone mode, you need to set GPIO72 = 0, GPIO84 = 1. Did you already try that?

Looking into control card schematics found in <C2000Ware>\boards\controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28377D\R1_1_A\F2837x_180controlCARD_R1_1_a_SCH_09May2014.pdf, you need to use SW1 found in page 3 to do that.

Hi manoj,

I am doing as you told.But my doubt is PC to Board communication is required.That how It will do>By using same Usb100v2 or any external connection using RS232 to the RX/TX pin is required.

Ashrumochan,

FTDI chip available in control card uses GPIO28 / 29 for SCI signals. If you wish to use GPIO28 / 29 for SCI boot, you need to do the following:-

1) GPIO72 = GPIO84 = 1

2) In standalone mode, Program Z1 -BOOTCTRL register in *(uint32_t *)0x7801E = 0x0000 815A (I'm assuming you working in zone1). This allows you to use GPIO28 / 29 for SCI boot in standalone mode

3) In emulation boot mode, program EMUBOOTCTRL register in*(uint32_t *)0xD00 = 0x0000 815A. This allows you to use GPIO28 / 29 for SCI boot in emulation mode

If you decide against using GPIO28 / 29, you have to make manual wire connection.
