SVM generation for FOC

Hi,

I am confused what TI uses for SVM generation.

In some documents, it is mentioned that SVGEN macro is used which is a typical SVPWM with finding sectors and t1,t2,t0 calculations.

In some articles, a sinusoidal PWM with third harmonic triangular wave injection is used for PWM generation in FOC.

I would like to know which is the best method and the recommended one.

The SVGEN libraries are used to calculate the PWM period value for InstaSPIN-FOC. Can you please link the article you mention? We would encourage you to implement any other method of PWM generation if you find a better method

Hi Sean,

All I want is some suggestions and views on which method to use. I am not an expert in this field and it would be great if you can mention some advantages and disadvantages related to these methods.

I feel that the third harmonic injection method will save runtime but I am not sure about its performance compared to SVM with alternate reverse sequence technique.

Just to let you know, my application is a control of PMSM motor for an electric sports bike.

The recommended one will be the third harmonic injection method, since it takes less CPU time due to less branches in the code than the sector based method.
