Part Number: TMS320F28033

Hi all,

I met a problem when using TMS320F28033 in my design, and the problem is : I tried many times but failed ,when download the program into TMS320F28033 below 0 ℃.I don't know the reason!can you give me some suggestion?

thanks a lot!!!

You mean to say that you're unable to flash the controller below 0 ℃? Does it flash at room temperature?

    Regards,

  • Hi Gautam,
    thanks for your reply first!
yes ,The customer wants to upgrade the program in the cold zone, but failed!Does the teperature effect the flash?

Can you share the complete part number your customer is using? The devices are very much qualified for sub zero temperatures right from -40degC. Can you confirm the device flashes well under room temperature and only when brought under colder condition it fails? Did you check the LDO functionality at this temperature? Is it stable?

    Gautam

  • As Gautam mentioned these devices are rated to -40C.

I would like to mention the flash timings here in the datasheet: http://www.ti.com/product/TMS320F28033/datasheet/specifications#SPRS5239506

Please note that the max erase time can be up to 12s, and this parameter does trend to increase as the device temperature gets colder.  If the flash programmation code has a shorter time out then this is likely the issue.

Another way to verify this is to erase at room temp and only program at cold with whatever current settings for time outs exist.

    Best,
    Matthew
