Part Number: TMS320F240

Hi,

I want to download a .hex file to a EEPROM TMS320F241FNA. How to begin with ? What tool do I need to perform this task. Need help here. Newbie in this field.

Thanks,

  • You may be aware that TI announced End-of-Life (EOL) status for this part a few years back. No active support for this device is currently available, since the entire toolchain is now obsolete.

Your post is not clear. I presume you want to download a hex file into the flash memory of F241. If this is a brand new device, you may be able to take advantage of the serial-loader programmed in flash. You need to tie the BIO pin low to invoke the bootloader and then run serhost.exe on the PC side. If the serial loader has been erased in the flash, then you need to use a debug probe like XDS510PP+ from Spectrum Digital (www.spectrumdigital.com). Since PCs with parallel port are not made anymore, you need to rely on a USB-to-Parallel port adapter. You then need to download the Prg2xx utility from Spectrum's website.
