CCS/TMS320F28379D: connection issue

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I have new 28379D evaluation kit.I generated a code by using Simulink. But after the code generation it shows an error, "the connection is lost or the device may be switched off ".It doesnot happen in 28377S, kindly suggest any solution.

Thanks

  • Hi,

Does the kit work with CCS example codes?

    Regards,
    Gautam
  • Hi D Mishra,

To expand a little bit on Gautam's line of questioning:

If this works fine with CCS examples, then maybe the Simulink SW configurations are off

If not, then you probably have some issues with the board HW. In this case you might want to check that all the supply rails are as expected (probably 5V, 3.3V and 1.2V rails, depending on what EVM you have), that the clock input does indeed have a valid input, and that the emulator is correctly connected per the board configurations (this mostly applies to the ControlCard...there are some switches that determine where/how the emulator connection is expected).
  • Thank you for your response.

The kit 28379D is working well with CCS verson 6.2.But if i use it with MATLAB environment in external mode,  though it builds the code, but it shows an error in real time mode. I have set all the configuration setting as i am doing with 28377S, which works fine. The error in 28379D shows a message that the device is not switched on.

Again in reply to Mr Cottin, the power options and all other components are working fine, otherwise it wouldn't have generated the code, but the real time error in MATLAB may be due to some kind of setting which i am missing.

    Kindly suggest regarding these.

    Thank you
