TMS320F28379D: Clarification about the shared flash pump

Hello everyone,

I have a naive question about the flash pump shared between the CPU1 and CPU2 flash module controllers. It may be obvious but can anyone confirm that is it called a "pump" because it is a charge pump circuit which is responsible for generating the high-voltage pulses which perform the flash erasure?

Vamsi,

Thanks for your answer. Is the flash pump only required for erase operations or for writes too?

Can the CPU read data and execute code directly from the flash bank or does it need the pump too? (though that would be weird given that the pump is shared between CPU1 and CPU2).

Pierre,

Pump is required for erase, program and reads. Pump can support erase/program of one bank at a time, but it can support read/execution of multiple banks at the same time.
