TMS320F280049: Problem on using sigma delta modulator with F280049 without any PWM output

Hi expert,

Our customer would like to use AMC1106E05DWVR with F280049 to do isolated current sensing. But in their case, they have already used all the eight pwm modules for controlling the power stage. I am no familiar with this part. So my questions are:

Q1: How to provide clock signal to AMC1106 and F280049 in this case?

Q2: What will happen if I provide clock signal with an external chip like CDCS502 and trigger the conversion with PWM's SOC?

Q3: Could I divide the 20Mhz clock to 5Mhz and supply this signal through GPIO16 to the SDFM with PWM doing the SOC?

Q1, Are you trying to use F280049 to generate a clock signal for AMC1106?

Hi Nima,

I just check the possibility. In system level, I need not only to provide the clock (from C2000 or clock generation chip or some AMC series with internal clock or whatever) but make the SDFM conversion happen. Do you have any advice on this?

I am posting the response from our private conversation other engineers faced the same situation.
"Using a external IC for the clock source of SDM should be OK.
PWM SOC signals could be used to sync the SDFM"
