TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: Connecting to Motors for Sensored Control

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hello, I am trying to connect the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT to the EMJ-04APB22 motor for sensored control. I see that the motor has an encoder, but it is not clear where the signals should be connected to the test setup.  I do however see the pinout of the encoder from the manufacturer's website. It is attached. I also see where TI specified to connect the encoder. It is also attached. The problem I am having is, the pins in the photo from TI are not labeled.

Also, is there a document that shows the names and locations of all of the pins that are on the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT? I would like to see if has the ability allows the DSP to read any analog signals.

Thank you

  • The motor includes two plug convert lines that enable these two connectors to be connected directly to H1/Main (QEP) and TB3/Main (Motor Connector) if the motor is ordered from TI e-store. The connection should be A+/BLUE->QEPA, B+/GREE->QEPB, C+/YELLOW->QEPI in you posted figure.

You may find the schematic of this kit in below folder if you download and install controlSUITE by default, and you could find what remaining GPIOs can be used, like the GPIOs on H2/M3 connector.
