TMS320F28335: Generating five PWM pulses

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hello,

I am trying to use the ezdsp board for TMS320F28335 to generate five PWM pulses for my interleaved boost converter.

I am getting four pwm pulses from ePWM1A, ePWM2A, ePWM3A and ePWM4A but the fifth pulse from ePWM5A is of very very low voltage and is not detected by the driver circuit. The output voltage of four PWM (1,2 3 and 4) from dsp is around 3.3 V but the fifth pulse is around 200mV.

Can you please tell me how to fix this issue? Also, if this is a hardware issue or software issue.

Thanks.

Best,

Ankul Gupta

  • Ankul,

can you see ePWM5A toggle between 0v and 200mV? Stated another way the wave form's 'shape' is correct but it is not the correct amplitude.

If the above is true it is not a software issue. The device can only output 0 or 3.3V. This means that the IO doesn't have enough drive strength to pull that node above 200mV.

Do you have a strong pull down on that node? Maybe a resistive short to ground?

    Regards,
