I am using DESIGN DRIVE IDDK Kit but problem is that I am not using texas instruments PMSM motor using my own motor, my question is how can I tune the motor to get motor parameters please help me to solve this issue

In the example project, there is no observer that tracks any of the motor parameters which may have a need for the stator resistance (RS) and inductance (LS).

Likewise, the PI controllers are also designed without using RS and LS, and are assigned with best guess values, probably not the right way of doing. You can use the opportunity to use the motor parameters for designing the PI values.

If you are looking to get the motor parameters, it is easy to pick an RLC meter and measure the cold resistance and inductance of the motor by measuring them between any two terminals and then divide it by two to get per phase value.

Yes, you may need to tweak the PI values for the current loops. Use a lower DC bus voltage, say, around 100V during tweaking. If you are happy with the performance, then increase Vdc.

Ok thats great and thank you so much for your great convenience, now tell me one thing that,can I use this example code as my custom motor control project??? Is this possible , if not then what should I can do becuse I have a no motor control experience

The code is given as reference and you can adapt it to your custom project by tweaking as needed. There are various build levels given in this project, guiding the user step by step, integrating hardware and software one at a time. You can spend some time to understand how it works and go from there. Nothing substitutes experience, and you have to gain it by spending time on working through the opportunity, in this case this example project.

Hello sir,

I have download the schematic of DESIGN DRIVE IDDK KIT but there is no gate driver and 15V power supply circuit in all pages of schematic, please tell me where I can found these both
circuits to complete my project

The inverter is made of Intelligent Power Module (IPM), where the gate drivers are integrated inside the module. Reg power supplies, I recommend you to review the schematics fully. There are two sets of power supplies, M2, M8 which are high voltage 400V/15V and M3, M9 which are 15V-5V and 3.3V.

Hello Rmsir, please tell me one more thing that, can I run 30V PMSM MOTOR motor with Boostxl_DRV8301 on slow speed for testing only with mono_mtr_servo example which are available in control suite
