TMS320F28377D: Connections for TMS320F28377DPTPQ MCU

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

I am totally new to this MCU i am designing my own board for a customer project i need to verify the connections. If anyone could verify, it will be helpful.

I am attaching the images as i cannot share the schematic. Please refer the images for programmer connection and also i am using a flash IC with SPI

connection there are 8 Flash IC in total and I am using SPI-A connection so how should i use SPISTEA, i have connected CS of each IC to GPIO.

For SPI i have used pin number 8 (SI), 9 (SO), 10(SCK) and 12 (SPISTEA Not Connected).

The Flash IC which i have used is MT29F4G01ADAGDWB(Micron 8 pin).

  • Sarang,

I am having trouble understanding your question. Could you specifically state what the question is, and provide what is working/what is not working.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Peter,

I am having only two doubts for now:

    1. What is the JTAG connector that i should use on my board.

    2. For GPIOHIBWAKE(GPIO41) pin 89 in PTP package should i connect
any reset circuit, if any can you please specify how to add it.

I am attaching datasheet for reference please check page number 25 for doubt number 2.

  • Sarang,

The JTAG schematic sections you provided look good. For the 20 pin JTAG board connector you can use this part: FTR-110-51-S-D-06. Regarding pin GPIO41, there is no requirement to connect it to anything, unless you use Hibernate mode. Only very few customers are using Hibernate mode, and this pin is used to wake up the MCU from the Hibernate mode. You can leave it unconnected.

  • Hi Peter,

For 3.3V output as referred  in TI sample schematic there is a schottky diode D1 the package is too low for layout

can you suggest some similar part or can i use any other diode with different specifications so what can they be.

I am attaching the reference PDF that i used please check and let me know.

Part reference for diode is CFSH05-20LTR-ND. Why do we need Vr =20V and Io=500mA can you please explain.tidrhv6.pdftidrhv7.pdf

    Sarang

  • Sarang,

What do you mean by the "D1 package is too low for layout". Did you mean too big or too small? Please give us more details.

    Thanks,
    PEter
  • The package for the diode is small i need same specification diode with big footprint.

    regards,

    Sarang.

  • Sarang,

The package for this diode has dimensions .4mm x 1.05mm x .65mm. What larger size are you looking for? Have you tried searching Digi-Key or Mouser distributor websites for similar diodes with larger  dimensions?
