TMS320F28377S: CLA/Viterbi, Multi-Processing & CLB Fabric Guidance

Part Number: TMS320F28377S

C2K Team,

Our existing C2000 customer would like to consider a move from F28335 to F28377S for performance purposes.  There are three (3) main items they would appreciate any further assistance with, as follows:

1.  With the addition of the CLA and Viterbi Units in hardware, which was years ago traditionally programmed via assembly, we now have a more modern method of programming these units in standard "C" code in CCS.  But do we have a good example project or training module, specific to both CLA and Viterbi units for this purpose?

2.  Customer will be interfacing the new F28377S to an existing TM4C Tiva (1294) MCU in their system.  While there are several available methods for 'multi-processing' of these two devices, is there a PREFERRED method (interface) out of the available (I2C/SPI/UART/serial/etc) on both devices?  Any white papers or app notes available would also apply to this too.  TI-RTOS will still be used so any recommendations pertaining to ease of use with this in mind is also welcomed.

3.  CLB Configurable Logic Block - several e2e references to this same topic such as this one here:

However, the common assumption is that this can sometimes in effect eliminate or reduce the need for an external CPLD or FPGA, depending obviously on the specific needs of the design.  Do we have additional White Papers or App Notes or wiki pages on this specific topic though please?

TY,
CY
