TMS320F28379D: EMIF: Bank size for SDRAM memory

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Hi,

For EMIF support CS0, the SDRAM supports different bank size but there is a confusion on the number that it supports.

In the register field description of SDRAM_CR Register, it says as follows

IBANK      000: 1 bank SDRAM devices.

                 001: 2 bank SDRAM devices.

                 010: 3 bank SDRAM devices.

                 011: 4 bank SDRAM devices.

                 1xx: Reserved.

But in the Table 25-8. Description of the SDRAM Configuration Register (SDRAM_CR) in the section 25.3.5.3 SDRAM Configuration Registers (spruhm8g.pdf), it says as follows

• When IBANK = 0h, 1 internal bank is used
• When IBANK = 1h, 2 internal banks are used
• When IBANK = 2h, 4 internal banks are used

Can you confirm what is the correct usage and the number of banks supported for SDRAM for EMIF_CS0?

Thanks,

Aditya

  • Hi,

    Following is correct definition -

When IBANK = 0h, 1 internal bank is used
    • When IBANK = 1h, 2 internal banks are used
    • When IBANK = 2h, 4 internal banks are used

Register definition is not correct and it's been already noted and fixed for next release.

    Regards,
