CCS/TMDSHVRESLLCKIT: Programming issues on brand new kit(CCSv8)

Part Number: TMDSHVRESLLCKIT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, UNIFLASH, TIDM-1001, POWERSUITE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi there,

I've been trying to get my TMDSHVRESLLCKIT up and running. I have followed the steps outlined in the "High-Voltage Half-Bridge LLC Resonant DC/DC Converter with Synchronous Rectification Kit Software Reference Guide". However when I try to debug the example HVLLC project from ControlSuite, I have encountered several errors. I am using CCSv8 on windows 10.

I have installed uniflash and it will allow me to read from memory using the memory browser tool but I have had no luck using it to program either. I have tried to upload a more basic example the f28027 ADCSoc example just to ram but also encounter similar errors. I have also double checked that the control card present in a f28027 control card, as such I am ensure why it claims the configured device does not match the target device.

Does anyone have any advise on how I should proceed? Thanks.

  • Hi Ryan,

Please make sure all the jumpers are correctly populated as mentioned in the 'hardware setup' section of the TMDSHVRESLLCKIT user guide. Please check that you are getting the 5V and 3.3V on the base board. The fact that you run into similar issues with the ADC example suggests that there maybe something missing with the hardware settings. You could try programming that ADC example code using any other board you may have that accepts the controlCard. The experimenter kit below would a good option.

This kit was released almost 9-10 years ago and the person who designed it has since left TI. So I apologize if I am unable to help you get to the bottom of this issue. I would highly recommend taking a look at the TIDM-1001 (two-phase interleaved LLC) design, which is actively supported in controlSuite and is also supported by our latest PowerSuite tools.

    I hope this helps.

    Hrishi
