Hi I'm using a PWM channel with its related GPIO as a output for anther function.

I'm unable to toggle the Pin using set/ clear when the PWM channel is selected.

Why is this the case?

You can use a specifc GPIO pin as GPIO pin (or) PWM pin (or) any peripheral pin. But, you can't use the same pin simultaneously as GPIO and PWM pin.

I required a pwm signal with a duty cycle of 30%on /70% off at 100us.
can a timer be used to generate this signal, the example is for 50%duty cycle.

Yes, you can achieve this by using GPIO as PWM pin. You don't need to use any timer.

PWM module has a time base module which can help you achieve 30% / 70% duty cycle and desired frequency. Check any PWMexample in C2000Ware?
