TMS320F28379D: Is the CMPAM register gone?

Hi everyone,

On TMS320F2803x devices the Type 1 ePWM modules have very useful mirror registers called CMPAM and CMPAHRM. Do these registers still exist in the Type 4 ePWM modules of TMS320F37xD devices? If not what alternative is there to check the value of the active register when using the shadow mode?

I just checked internal docs and double checked with design, and yes they are gone. There is not a way to check the active register. You have to keep track of it in your own software.

Sorry about that. But it should be fairly easy to keep track of it in software.

Hello Nima,

Actually I wanted to be able to check whether a given value written to the shadow register has been transferred to the active register. The solution I found is to read CMPCTL[SHDWAFULL] and I think it works best.

Hence my next question: I found CMPCTL[SHDWAFULL] and CMPCTL[SHDWBFULL] in the TRM but I couldn't find anything about a CMPCTL2[SHDWCFULL] or CMPCTL2[SHDWDFULL]. Do these two exist?

You can definitely check the CMPCTL[SHDWxFULL].

Also no there is no SHDWCFULL or SHDWDULL.
