Hi folks,

is there a way to somehow extract/plot speed and torque data of a motor? I would like to plot a step response in matlab.

Technically it would be very hard to add an external torque sensor so I would really appreciate to use a software solution instead.

I am using the DRV8305 and LAUNCHXL-F28027F with lab5c (Instaspin FOC) running on it.

have you investigated lab05h in Motorware 18? That lab is intended to graph a step response using the CCS graphing tool. It sets up the buffer to grab the data - if you want, you can use the infrastructure in that lab and grab the data buffer for use in Matlab

Sounds promising! Thank you very much.

Just tried to get it run. The motor is doing the step like supposed to do but the graph always shows 0rpm.

Do you have also a solution for that?

Were you able to solve this issue? The graphing tool is not meant for dynamic refresh, have you manually refreshed so that the buffer is repopulated? I'm not sure what the issue is without some more info from your end
