CCS/LAUNCHXL-F28379D: HRPWM - Useful value in the HRMSTEP Registry (with or without SFO function)

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28379D

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

for optimal HRPWM accuracy, the HRMSTEP Register should be loaded with the MEP_ScaleFactor (by using the SFO function).

Does the accuracy deteriorate, when I load the HRMSTEP Register with a own high value (for example 250) instead of using the SFO function?

  • What it’s goimg to effect is the sw and hw we provide to automatically calculate things for you will not be able to assume that the maximum number of hr steps in a coarse step is right. However if you are calculating everything yourself you will be okay going that route. The SFO is made to be called periodically to recalculate in order to compensate for external factors such as temperature to ensure correct scale factors at all time.
  • Hello Nima Eskandari,
    thank you for the answer.

    Best regards,
