TMS320F28377D: Could F28377's comparator trigger a GPIO state change when comparasion happens?

Hi expert,

My customer would realize such scheme:

When over current event happens, on - chip comparator triggers GPIO state change (high to low or low to high) without configuring GPIO registers through CPU or CLA.

Is that possible?

Hi Sheldon,

No, that's not possible. By default GPIOs are in GPIO mode. For the comparator to output it's trip to the GPIO, the OUTPUT-XBAR or EPWM-XBAR has to be configured. Has your customer double checked the XBAR and GPIO configuration settings?

Hi Frank,

Do you mean only the GPIOs which can be muxed with output XBAR can get comparator result output? Will epwm XBAR do the work on pins having epwm peripheral?

Sheldon,

The only way a comparator trip can get to a GPIO is by either going through the OUTPUTXBAR (GPIO has to be in OUTPUTXBAR mux mode) or EPWM through the EPWMXBAR (GPIO has to be in EPWM mux mode).
