TMS320F280049: EPWM Trip Zone Function for Over Current Protection

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hi All,

Currently I plan to use Comparator Subsystem and PWM Trip_zone configuration inside this MCU to implement the over current protection (or any other hardware fault protection), to replace the external hardware logic in the old design. My question or concern is that how RELIABLE this programmable logic inside MCU is compared with external hardware logic? Is there any scenario (like frequently power reset) which will accidentally disable this protection logic? What about the main clock glitch (from external oscillator) will cause the malfunction of this logic?

Thanks,

Frank
