TMS320F28379D: eCAP in polling mode

Hi,

I am learning about eCAP. Can i make the eCAP to work in polling mode? Any specific registers available for it?

Or i can only make it work in interrupt mode, interrupt to trigger in either rising/falling edge from specific captures.

Hi Manohar,

Could you provide some details on your application? What aspect of the eCAP are you wanting to poll and why?

While I believe you technically could poll some of the registers (ECFLG maybe), I don't think you'd get much, or any, additional use rather than using interrupts instead.

Hi Kevin,

I am getting a PWM pulse from a device, where i need to calculate the Ton, Toff and frequency.

So instead of letting the pulse to interrupt my system, Can i apply polling concept to find out the above elements values.

Hi,

If you do not want to issue interrupts, you can poll the flags as well for different events.
refer to ECFLG Register description for details.
You can poll for flag bits in this register instead of using an interrupt.
