CCS/TMS320F28069: Output Current is not smooth

Part Number: TMS320F28069

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

hi everyone,

i'm running a pmsm with the TAPAS inverter (tms320 on it) and in instaspin lab05b (and in the other labs aswell) i can't manage to get the output current to a smoothly sine.

instead, the current has a few harmonics. it gets better if i change the control parameters, but it's always there.

have you gut any recommondations?

thanks in advance!

  • Hello,

Concerned experts have been notified of this query.

Note that it is Thanksgiving week in US and most of the TI engineers are away.

Please expect a delayed response, surely by early next week.

  • As you mentioned, the real current waveform should be close to a sinusoidal shape, but can't be a pure sinusoidal shape using FOC that limit to the current sampling, the BEMF waveform of a motor. InstaSPIN-FOC used the control algorithm to follow the BEMF shape of the motor. You might optimize the current sampling circuit and identify the motor parameters, and tune the PID regulator parameters to improve the current waveform. You may post some pictures to show it if you have any further questions about it.
  • Just wanted to check in and see if there is any update from your side, I haven’t heard from you for two weeks, so I’m assuming you were able to resolve your issue. Please let me know if you have any questions. We would like to close this thread if no any further questions. Thanks.
