LAUNCHXL-F28069M: Lunchpad jumper problem

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28069M

Hello

Im working with LAUNCHXL-F28069M, in LAUNCHXL-F28069M Overview (Rev. A) document, it is mentioned that if JP7 be on and JP6 stay unconnected , UART/USB is connected and SCIA is also on J1.3 and J1.4, but when i do so, only UART/USB is connected, but when i connected both JP7 and JP6, SCIA is connected to both USB and J1.3 and J1.4 . is there something that i missed?

  • The table describes the appropriate behavior. How are you verifying that the SCI is still connected to USB? are you able to run the Out of box example and see the output on the terminal in both configurations?

    -Mark
  • when jumper J7 is connected but J6 is not, i can only see MSG on USB terminal, not on J1.3 and J1.4

when  both J6 and J7 are connected, I can see MSG on J1.3 and J1.4 SCIARX and SCIATX only not on USB terminal, is this a correct behavior? since I thought based on document Table 1, if J7 is connected only, MSG should be sent both on J1.3 and USB

    Regards

    Correct

This is the correct behavior. GPIO28 and GPIO29 are routed to the BoosterPack header in this configuration, not to USB/UART.

This is not possible, nor is it described in Table 1. When JP7 is ON and JP6 is OFF, J1.3/J1.4 are in Hi-z configuration and not connected to the MCU. You can look at the schematic as well and see how the jumpers affect the circuit.
