TMS320F28377D: Resetting CAN peripheral and switching CAN ownership between the CPU's

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Hi,

I want to switch the ownership of CAN channel between CPUs dynamically. I have CPU1 to do a task using CAN and then once it is done I want to switch the ownership of CAN to cpu2.  I believe we have to reset the CAN peripheral before switching the ownership. I went through the SOFTPRESx registers and was not able to find CAN peripherals. Can anyone help on how to proceed on this ?

Thanks,

Bala.

  • Hi Bala,

Prior to switching ownership of CAN to CPU2 (and after completing all the CAN tasks), disable the CAN peripheral clock then configure CPUSEL8 to switch the CAN ownership to CPU2, then turn CAN peripheral clock back on with register PCLKCR10.

    Regards,
