Dear TI Experts:

In TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT, we can find the PWM overlap protection circuit, which seems not found in other reference designs. Could you kindly tell me the main reason for the circuit? For TI MCU's dead time setting is still not safe?

For example, If one applies the design of TIDA-00364 (shown below), had he better add the PWM overlap protection circuit between the MCU and the PHU_PWM_HI and PHU_PWM_LO (shown below)?

The dead time setting still works, it's a general redundancy design as a safety consideration, to avoid that PWMxH and PWMxL are high levels at the same time, you could remove it if your board is cost sensitive since C2000 supports dead-time insertion for PWM module.
