CCS/TMS320F28027F: How to reduce the rpm ripple

Part Number: TMS320F28027F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE, DRV8305

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I have a customer they are design LIDAR for automotive application, they need the motor speed fixed in 1200rpm and the error below 1rpm.

Is it possible to achive? We had tested motorware lab5b with drv8305 evm the rpm ripple is about 5rpm measurement by optical encoder.

I had tried to adjust speed loop  kp/ki but no effect.

Thanks.

  • It may be difficult to keep the speed error is less than 1rpm using the sensorless instaSPIN-FOC, especially, the external load always changes. You might try to improve the feedback signal quality and tune the gain of both current and speed controller. Maybe, sensored FOC is more reasonable to be used in this case.
