TMS320F28377D: Flash don't run

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Dear All:

I use the TMS320F28377 to design the Servo controller, i have run into some problems in my design, and i need your  help. The problems are  as follows:

    1.  the jtag  PIN2 can't pull to 0V, the PIN2 is only 2.3V

    2.  the ram can download programs, but the FLASH can't

    3. the ram can download programs, but it can't run, show “low power mode”

can you  help to resolve the problems? Thanks~

  • Hi Big Bill,

Is this on a custom board, or a TI EVM?

Is it a similar issue to this e2e thread:

And the "Low-Power Modes: Power Down Flash or Maintain Minimum Device Activity" erratum?

If you scope the 1.2V rail, the 3.3V rail, and the XRSn, do the supply rails stay in range during flash programming?  Does XRSn assert low during programming (indicating the device is going into reset)?

  • Big Bill,

Another question for you. You note that JTAG PIN 2 is around 2.3v. Typically this is the TRSTn pin (you can confirm if this is what you have designed). It is important to keep this at a full level of 0V or 3.3V. Can you check what pull-down resistor is used on your board for this pin, it should be in the 2.2kOhm range. The specification of your emulator to overdrive this pin will also be important to check.

    Best regards,
    Jason
  • Dear Jason:

Thanks for your reply, the Jtag problems is solved. but the ram can download programs, but the FLASH can't, can you help to answer the question? Thanks
  • Hi Big Bill,

Please see my previous post further up the thread. Does addressing the referenced issue fix your flash programming issue?
  • Hi Big Bill,

Is the issue resolved, are you able to download program into Flash? If so, please close this thread.

    Thanks,
    Nirav
