Dear All,

Could you guide how to calculate Bootstrap Capacitors(C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6) at circuit schematic of "High Voltage Motor Control and PFC Developers Kit(TMDSHVMTRFCKIT)?

At this schematic...

C1, C2, C3 = 100uF  and C4, C5, C6 = 2.2uF

I think the value(especially C1, C2, C3) is too large. As I know, a large value bootstrap capacitor is difficult to charge in a short time(high frequency).

Why is this value selected in TMDSHVMTRFCKIT?

    The value should be fine, you don't need to change it. This capacitor value depends on the gate driver of the power module, you might find some detailed information about how to calculate the capacitance in the datasheet of the power module.
