TMS320F28035: what does ADC temperature coefficient mean?

Part Number: TMS320F28035

Does this parameter apply to both offset and gain error?

For example the offset may be +1LSB at room temperature(25C), so at 125C it could be 1(1-100*50/1000,000)=1*(1-5/1000)?

If I do a offset calibration at room temperature, can I use temperature coefficient to calculate how I should change the ADCOFFTRIM register according to the function I list above?

  • Howard,

The temperature coefficient also includes shifts in gain and linearity error. I would not consider this TYP value to be reliable for predicting ADCOFFTRIM corrections across temperature.

  • What if I use an external temperature sensor?

  • Howard,

It is not recommended to use the coefficient to compensate for errors because 1) the coefficient is different between devices, and 2) the coefficient includes multiple sources of error that require different methods for correction.

I do not see how an external temperature sensor would help....

Are you asking about potential errors that might affect reads of an external sensor?
