TMS320F28335: Control card LED LD1 is not glowing

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hello,

After switching ON the DOCKING STATION, the control card LED LD1 is not glowing, while docking station LED LD1 is glowing.

Also while debugging a programme, the CCS interface is unable to connect to the DSP kit.

If anyone has faced the same problem, please respond with a solution.

Thanks & Regards,

Soumya Ranjan.

  • Hi Soumya,

    Thanks for the concise description.

Yes, LD1 on the controlCARD should light if LD1 on the Docking Station is lit.

If this kit has been used & has worked correctly prior, it looks like it may have been damaged at that time.  Might this be the case?

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Dear Sir,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
We were generating a pulse of 1MHz with constant duty. It was working fine and suddenly CCS window closed. After restarting the DSP and the CCS, LED LD1 is not glowing.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Soumya.
  • Hi Soumya,

It sounds like the controlCARD was damaged.  You may need to purchase a new one.

It is worthwhile to think about & discover what occurred to damage the controlCARD, so that it doesn't occur again. Some things to consider:

    • If the 1MHz pulses were driving power equipment, you may need to add power isolation into your system - potentially between your computer and the C2000 device.
    • Ensure that any GPIO/ADC signals going into the device are between 0-3.3V.  Also, ensure that no GPIO/ADC signals are powered prior to the device being powered
    • Make sure that you didn't accidentally make some kind of electrical short during your experimentation (connect VDDIO to GND accidentally, etc).

    Thank you,
    Brett
