LAUNCHXL-F28379D: 32bit exSRAM and UPP connectors

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, TMDSCNCD28379D

Hello Team,

Could you help please with our customer's question about LAUNCHXL-F28379D:

1) Does LAUNCHXL-F28379D have connector for 32-bit external SRAM?

2) Does LAUNCHXL-F28379D have connector for the full-sized uPP interface?

Thank you in advance!

BR,
Ilya.

  • Ilya,

    1. The schematics for the LAUNCHXL-F28379D are available in C2000Ware as well as the LaunchPad User Guide (SPRUI77). J9 on the back side of the board supports up to a 16-bit SDRAM.  Refer to the Design and Usage Guidelines for the C2000 External Memory Interface (EMIF) for a description of the interface and options available with this connector. The schematics for the EMIF Application Note are available in C2000Ware under the boards\TIDesigns directory.
    2. There is no dedicated connector for the uPP on the LaunchPad, though the all pins for this interface except for  uPP-D7 are available /accessible on the board.

I'm sorry that I do not have better news for you. You can also look at the F28379D controlCard (TMDSCNCD28379D) for another EVM which provides access to many more IOs of the device.

  • Hi,

On query related to uPP -

    2) Does LAUNCHXL-F28379D have connector for the full-sized uPP interface?

Please note that uPP interface on this device was provided for specific use case and this interface will not be supported on future C2000 devices. So we recommend users to use some other interface unless it is connected to same interface on other device.

  • Mark,

    Thank you for the reply!

Could you please clarify thesame questions for TMDSCNCD28379D:

    1) Does TMDSCNCD28379D have connector for 32-bit external SRAM?

    2) Does TMDSCNCD28379D have possibility of using GPIO pins for uPP(12,11,10,21; 20,19,18,17,16,15,14,13)?
(I havent found it in user's guide)

    BR,
    Ilya
  • Ilya,

Again, the schematic is available in C2000ware. There is also an easy to digest pdf showing the map of the edge connector "F2837x_180controlCARD_R1_3_SCH_02Oct2015.pdf". The same EMIF board I had previously mentioned is compatible, though uses different GPIOs and EMIF instance - refer to the app note for details.

All uPP GPIOs are available at the edge connector J1. There is no dedicated connector.
