CCS/TMS320F28069M: How to use motorware and C2000ware libraries together in a single project.?

Part Number: TMS320F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, MOTORWARE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I have some working experience with C2000ware library with F2069M and F28027. Now I want to use the F28069M controller for Motor control, and I have gone through its 3 lab sessions and have some basic Idea about the code flow and structure. For the same reason I want to use the motorware API so that I can utilize the instaSPIN and instaMOTION benifits.

Is it possible to use C2000ware and Motorware API's in a single project so that I use the motorware modules such as clarke park and many others along with c2000ware.??

  • Yes, you can definitely use libraries from both packages in one project. I would probably use a MotorWare project as a base and add C2000Ware libraries on top of that. Most libraries in C2000Ware have User Guides that should help you figure out what files and include paths you need to add them to a project. Have you tried combining them yet?

  • Yes, I had tried it, I have chosen motorware example as the base project (as i am still not comfortable to make project with all includes and source and link files that might be required for motorware project) and have added/linked the c2000ware basic files and tried to build it.

I am not sure with which linker file to use and I got multiple errors. If you can help me get steps to create a project, It would be helpful.

  • Sure, I can help you work through your errors if you want to send them to me.

I'm guessing by basic files, you mean the register bit-field structure header files? As for linkers, keep the original one from your MotorWare project and add the f2806x\headers\cmd\F2806x_Headers_nonBIOS.cmd file for the header file support.

A common mistake I see with the header files is that people forget to add f2806x\headers\source\F2806x_GlobalVariableDefs.c to their project, so make sure you've done that.
