EPWMCLK Maximum value limitation

Part Number: TMS320F28375S


I am using TMS320F28375S controller. I used 12 Mhz crystal. I initialized system clock to 180 MHz and TBCLK also to 180 MHz. It is working fine. But in datasheet EPWMCLK max value is given as 100 MHz.

1. Why there is limitation on EPWM Clock ?

2. What if we have initialized to > 100MHz ?

    We do not recommend running the EPWM clock higher than 100MHz. You may see unexpected behavior. Many have asked this question but the answer is to lower your EPWM CLK to 100 MHz. !00 MHz has been tested by us to not have unexpected behavior.

    If you need higher resolution, use HRPWM.
