TMS320F28069M: Hardware Reference to Checkout FAT file system on F28069M Launchpad

Part Number: TMS320F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Dear Support:

I am needing to add either micro-SD card (could use SD card if otherwise) to the F28069M launchpad and checkout the FAT file system in C2000Ware located here:

C:\TI\c2000\C2000Ware_1_00_06_00\utilities\third_party\f2806x\fatfs

Can you tell me what hardware was used wrt a specific launchpad and SD or micro-SD card EVM that was used to test this out?  Would like to know what reference hardware and hopefully supporting documentation that goes along with what is located in C2000Ware for the FAT file system to check this out so I can have a reference to follow.  I looked in the docs directory and don't see such a reference.  Do you know if one exists?  Please advise.

Thanks,
Tim

  • We don't have a recommended hardware solution for it. Any SD card breakout board should work though. It should be fairly straightforward to adjust the GPIOs for the SPI connection if needed.

43oh.com appears to have had a BoosterPack for SD card, but it's not in stock now and I don't know if it was compatible with the F28069M LP anyway. You could take a look though. doc.43oh.com/The_Card_Reader_SDCard_BoosterPack

If you want documentation for the FatFs itself, the site for it is probably the best source: elm-chan.org/.../00index_e.html

We don't yet have an example project for SD card on the F2806x, but there is one for F2837xD that could be helpful

  • Hey Whitney:

Thanks for your response. Yes, I have that booster pack and have used it on other of our launchpads. It's just in the past, when working with other launchpads, there typically has been a reference board and supporting documentation that goes along with something that goes in the 3rd party directory of our SDKs and was hoping there was something similar for the C2000. I read some other C2000 forum posts on folks looking for example code and was hoping there was some docs and reference to what is available that corresponds to what is in C2000Ware. No problem - thanks for making that clear as to what is available. I'll use the reference you provided with the F2837xd and come up with some example code that is more extensive and running on the F28069M and runs on a simple uSD card breakout board.

    Thanks,
    Tim
