TMS320F28379S: Phase-Shifted Full Bridge with Current Mode Control

Part Number: TMS320F28379S

I have a customer migrating from the F2806x Piccolo series of MCUs to the F28379S Delfino MCU.

Customer will be implementing a phase-shifted full-bridge with current mode control.

Ideally, customer would like to achieve this without utilizing an interrupt routing as done with the Piccolo MCU.

Do we have any code examples demonstrating this with F2837xS Delfino MCUs.

Thanks.

  • Gregory,
Do we have a list of functions the customer was doing with the ISR on the F2806x MCU? I understand the general direction of the question, but need some more clarity to answer. As of right now there is not a pure PSFB port to the F28379 device, but I suspect there may be some similarities in the advantages the newer IP brings to some other kits once I get a better idea of the blocks involved.

    Best,
    Matt
  • Gregory,
Wanted to check back to see if we had anymore feedback from the customer? I'm going to mark as TI thinks resolved, but if there are still issues feel free to post back and it will remove that flag(and alert me).

    Best,
    Matthew
  • Matt,

Sorry for the delay.  Got another response from customer.

Sounds like they were using the HVPSFB_PCMC example for Piccolo.

Customer wants to use the Delfino solution to control a PSFB supply without running an ISR.

Since we don't have a pure port, is there collateral we can point the customer toward?

    Thanks.

    Greg

  • Gregory,

I would start with the peripheral guide here : http://www.ti.com/lit/spru566 , this will clarify the improvements/changes to each peripheral from the F2803x class device to the F2837x device.

Of particular note, regarding PCMC, is the addition of a "delayed" trip function in the ePWM.  This allows the customer to add CPU cycles to the delay from the trip module to avoide shoot through on the transistior pair.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Gregory,
Wanted to see if there were any additional questions related to the above.
