Hi,

I just posted about the Universal GUI on Linux. Posting this seperately, whether we have a command line version of the Instaspin Universal GUI that could be more easily ported to Linux. Do we have something like that?

No, we don't have a command line version of the Universal GUI. The Universal GUI is kind of a nice graphical way to view variables (primarily gMotorVars) that you could also view in the CCS Expressions window, so there's always that alternative. Another more time consuming option could be to write a custom command line application using Debug Server Scripting which could be used to load and run a program and interact with global variables.

Hi Whitney,

thanks. I think this helps. It may be an option to have a custom command line app with DSS, which would be able to run on Linux. However the dependency would still be that there needs to be a JTAG connection.

I have another thread out there, for the GUI Composer based Instaspin Universal GUI, which I think also uses a JTAG connection (via GUIComposer runtime) to get to the gMotorVars. Is this correct? Could you comment on that?

Yes, all of these options (including the Universal GUI) require a JTAG connection.
