Hi, I have just bought a LAUNCHXL-F28027F form TI.

Once I connected the board through USB and debugged an example project of MotorWare. Everything was OK and I disconnected the board

After a while and for the second time of debugging of another example project, I couldn't even connect the board through the USB connection and Windows shows "USB device not recognized" and I see this message below Device Status section in Device Manager window:

" Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

A request for the USB device descriptor failed. "

I already did all of the instruction of below address which I found by searching the issue, but it didn't work:

Medhi,

Please take a look in the following app note; http://www.ti.com/lit/spracf0 it will help diagnose this type of issue. There is also a step to re-program the FTDI device if it comes to that.

Let me know if you run into issues, or the app note doesn't resolve your issue.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I already found that my device emulator is XDS100v2. later checked the app note (JTAG Debug Flow)...

my device is not correctly present on device manager (please check the attachment- screenshot), so I tried to reprogram the device using
xds100v2-FT_Prog_v2.2.zip which was presented in this page by TI emloyee (I clicked on the link that was presented in app note for reprogramming XDS100v2 emulator):

after running FT_PROG.exe, and scanning for the devices, the application shows an error of "no devices found" (please check the attachment- screenshot)

So I was not successful :((

I have not seen this error before in terms of the FTDI programmer failing in this way, would it be possible to try a different USB port or even a different host PC?

Medhi,

I beleive this should help us remove the FTDI device driver from your OS

https://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities.htm#CDMUninstaller

The embedded video shows how to globally remove any FDTI vendor ID related drivers, then re-install. Hopefully after this you can run FTPROG and it will recognize the device.

Medhi,
I agree that the board may be damaged, we've exhausted the common/resolvable issues that I have seen. Do you think the board was exposed to any overvoltage or ESD event?

You really did the best. I've learned a lot during solving this issue. Your references and help were awesome and useful.

Because of using PC's USB port, there is no possibility of overvoltage but ESD might have occurred. Is there any chance of repairing the board?

I think trying to isolate the issue/repair it would be cost prohibitive compared to the launch pad itself. I'll reach out to you with the E2E tools to discuss further.
