Compiler/TMS320F2808: Move from code generation tools V5.1.2 to V18.1.1LTS on F2808

Hi expert,

My customer would like to move their F2808 project from old code generation tool (V5.1.2) to some new one (V18.1.1LTS). They are afraid of the differences between the two could cause some error in code execution. Do you have any advice or tips for doing this kind of transfer?

    No compiler vendor can guarantee a new release will never have a problem.  That said, it is not common.  TI compilers are tested with a number of commercial test suites.  Further, we have tests that are developed from the bug reports which are filed.  We run those tests to be sure the problems we fix do not return.  More information can be found in the article Compiler Validation.
