TMS320F28377S: ADC sampling rate: F28335 vs. F2837x

Part Number: TMS320F28377S

Hi team,

I am helping my customer evaluating F28335 and F2837xS. F2837xS absolutely shows better performance in processing(higher MIPS, CLA, TMU and etc.), but we noticed there is a huge difference between the sampling rate of F28335 and F2837x.

Generally, the sampling rate of F28335 is 12.5 MSPS while F2837x is 3.5 MSPS. Similarly, I noticed we claimed lower sampling rate on other new generation devices: F28004x, F2807x and etc.

Since the ADC of F2837x(type 4) is not the same as F28335(type 2), did we changed the definition of sampling rate? How can we fairly compare the performance of this 2 ADC?

Thanks,

Brian
