TMS320F28377D: Two resolver chip connection request

Hi,

Customer has a request on traction project, inside two resolver chips (not PGA411) connection are needed. The reading of two resolver may be overlapped.

In this case, we are thinking of two EMIF solution. Each C28x owns one EMIF. In this way, a lot of pins will be used, including the two boot pins.

So:

1) What's your suggestion, two EMIF or one EMIF by chip select?

2) The boot pins are used to connect to resolver chip. Do we need to change the boot pins to others? Or an external weak pull up?

3) Do we have any reference on the connection of EMIF and resolver chip?

If one EMIF with two CS can be used then that is always better. Right ?

I don't think we have any reference on the connection of EMIF and resolver chip but we have an app note on EMIF general connection which can be used.

About BOOT pin, I'll let our system engineer reply.

I don't understand why an EMIF is needed. Usually, the resolver interface chips have serial or parallel interface and not EMIF? Can you tell us the R2D part used?

This device needs GPIOs only (or parallel port) and not EMIF. Can you check again?

GPIO72 is used as EM1D12.
GPIO84 is not used.

Well, what you need is one port of 16 bits and few pins from another port for doing the CS/, RD/, etc. You don't need an entire EMIF.
