TMS320F280049: real time debug , 10 variables max refresh rate

HI everybody ,

I m using F280049 in a high speed motor control . ideally I have 10 variables ( 32bits wide ) I would like to see "live" via emulator XDS110 during real time debugging .

question : which is max 'refresh rate " I can exepct ? how to get it ?

any suggestion/idea on how to create a logger out of these continuos flow of data ?

my goal would be to save also these data for offline studying

I'd start here with DSS scripting: http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/users_guide/sdto_dss_handbook.html This basically uses the same engine as Code Composer but acts as a script/text driven server to pull labeled variable/known locations out of the device. The relative references to labeled variables is nice since it means you won't need to change the script location if a re-link/compile happens to the variables under examination.

Based on some data from our own setups I think conservatively using the JAVA script server we should be able to get 2.5Mbps over the JTAG link using DSS scripting.

Keep in mind that since this is using the emulation connection, it will be looking for holes/gaps in the code executing on the C28x in order to read/write the data. My point being if the MCU utilization is very high, it could cause lower data rates than above.
