TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: Difference between TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT and BoostXl-DRV8301?

Hello,

I am testing BLDC control with two kits. One of them is TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT with F28069 control card and the other is BoostXl-DRV8301 with F28069 Launchpad. With hall sensor and QEP, I get perfect results with BoostXl-DRV8301, however, with the same code, the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT shows some strange results. For instance at some points during rotation, it read 0 for all values of hall sensors which is incorrect! Or when I use encoder, the motor accelerates then suddenly decelerates! I am confused because both of these hardware has the same micro-controller, so is there any other configuration for the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT that is causing this issue?

Do you mean you loaded the same .out onto the 2 controllers? Or did you migrate the code base to account for the different pin-outs between the two hardware kits?

I migrated the codes and chaged the pinouts based on the datasheet of the micro controllers.

Pls check in the code where one of the build levels is all about feedback sensing, and make sure the feedback sensing is all working good. I suggest you to work on that build level to figure out if you get the feedback sensing all done properly. Also, keep in mind that the HVMtr kit is a high voltage kit and the inverter has a much higher dead band (2us compared to few hundred nano sec of DRV)

We have done any code porting like what you are trying and may not be able to provide a ref code for you. You may have to spend some time understanding the logics and go from there.
