I'm using the "FCL_379XL" example in ControleSuite, this example uses a dual motor with the DRV8305EVM.

for me, instead of using the motor I want to use 3 resistances connected to the DRV.

but in the program it's saying that in order to be able to measure the currents and the voltage, your need to set the motor1.RunMotor=STOP to motor1.RunMotor=RUN.

I tried doing it in the debbug session. but it reset to STOP itself instantly.

I think it is tripping due to over current. Watch the flag TripFlagDMC. You may have to increase the resistance value. Also, pls review the user guide for finer details.

I have a question about the PWM : I feel like you have just configured the PWMs for the high side of each half bridge (PWM1A, PWM2A and PWM3A) but haven't seen anything about the ones for the low side(PWM1B, PWM2B, PWM3B).
don't you need to configure them all ?

In one of the modes, DRV8305 can generate the complementary pulse for each phase freeing up MCU pins for other tasks.

Thanks, but I can't find in the program where you actually activate this mode to generate the complementary pulse for each phase.
Can you please indicate to me where it is in program?

Look for 'drv8305_PWM_mode_6' in the code.

I suggest to review the function
void InitDRV8305Regs(MOTOR_VARS * motor, uint16_t DRV_gain)
for more details.

yes i think you're right here is a screenshot of the flag TripFlagDMC in the debbug session. Can I solve this problem without changing the resistance.

maybe like tweaking some values in the program ? o disabling this flag ?

If you dont like this protection, do not call the protection(). I dont think it is a good idea though, but as long as you are aware of the consequences, it is your call. Pls review the user guide for details before checking on the forum.

hey thanks for your answers. I want to measure the 3 phase voltage comming out of the BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM (VA, VB and VC) using F28379D launchpad as i mentionned above. but all i'm getting as values in ADC registers is 4095.

I noticed also that when motor1.RunMotor is equal to STOP, i'm still getting values around 3600 in the ADC result registers even there isn't any current or voltage flowwing through the resistances used.

i don't know what causing this. hope you can help.

Nick,

RunMotor = STOP will stop the motor but not stop measuring data from ADC. The example project does not bother about phase voltage feedbacks, it only uses the phase current feedbacks in the loop control. If it reads 3600, probably that is the voltage at the analog input of that channel.

There are many posts from you on this topic and the evaluation you are attempting. Pls review the user guide. Unless you spend some time and effort to understand the concepts, support through the forum will take you long. Hope you understand.
