TMDSHVMTRINSPIN: wrong speed on the InstaFoc and motion

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN

Hello all,

             i have3 questions please , i have the HV kit TMDSHVMTRINSPIN :

1-the speed that show for the BLDC motor on the InstaFOC or Motion are not the same as the one i measure with tachometer the real speed is 1/3 of the one shown on motion or FOC

2-how can i control what frequency i can run the motor at ? for example at 400Hz , what setting do i change in the InstaFOC or Motion ?

3-if i use one of the VFD it run the same motor at 400Hz the BLDC senso rless motor run at 1000 RPM but with the default setting of the HV kit the motor run at 450 RPM , how can change the operating Frequency ?

  • 1) do you have the # of poles set correctly in user.h?

    2) InstaSPIN-FOC on F2802x, F2805x and F2806x devices pass a speed reference to the EST. While the EST does use Fe, it does so internally, so setting a speed reference in Hz doesn't work as it does for setting the speed reference in rpm

    3) I don't understand your question here, can you please be more clear?

  • hi,
    1) yes i have 36 in the stator /3=12 poles
2)how can i speed it if not by frequency by what mean i can speed it ?because i put the rpm higher but the motor stay on the same speed
3)same as question 2 , how can i speed the motor , i see parameter like "estimation frequency in HZ) would this put higher frequency ?
  • 1. The number of pole pairs is not dependent on the stator, that depends on the rotor, you should get the right value for the datasheet of the motor.
    2. The mechanical speed (rpm) =60*fe/(Pole Pairs).
    3. As question 2, set a right reference speed (rpm), you will get the correct electrical frequency as you want.
