Hello!

We try to explore SFRA in 28035
I try to follow the document to setup my program
C:\ti\controlSUITE\libs\app_libs\SFRA\v1_20_00_00\Doc\SFRALib
I don't have the DPS Workshop Board ,I want to test SFRA on my customer buck.
Now I can't conncet SFRA GUI but I'm already running program.
Does anything I ignore?

Which hardware are you using? do you have a control card and a docking station ?

Did you select a COM port?

I will recommend first making sure it connects with the example code in controlSUITE, the code should run on any control card atleast to test the connection and working

I use TMS320F28035,and select COM port like the figure.

I try to running the example code in CCS v8.

C:\ti\controlSUITE\libs\app_libs\SFRA\v1_20_00_00\examples\DPSWrkShpKit_SFRA_F28035

And try to connect GUI,select COM port 5,click OK,then fail.

Here is my test condition:

Code Composer Studio : Version: 8.3.0.00009

Windows : Windows 10 home

Control card:F28035 Piccolo Experimenter's Kit

make sure J9 jumper is closed, the SFRA GUI talks on SCI and if it is not connected it will not work,

I confirm J9 jumper is closed,and do that again,try to select COM port 6,the error message is show like figure.Still can't connect the DSP to GUI.

Another question is:

If I don't use JTAG,I can't find any COM port in GUI,but in the www.youtube.com/watch
I'm not see the JTAG.

can you confirm when you remove and connect JTAG you see COM6 enumerate when connected and go away when you disconnect JTAG/ USB cable ?

you can check this in device manager

So I use JTAG to connect my DSP to the GUI.
Confirm J9 is closed
First I load the program into the DSP and enter the debug mode.
Then open the GUI
Select COM port 5 Click to confirm
Then the GUI shows: Could not connect. please check connections

Do I have to set up any hardware devices?
I am not sure how the SCI part needs to connect to JTAG or not.

I want to connect the DSP and PC with USB.

But the SFRA GUI cannot scan the COM port,what can I do?

I use device manager see the change is USB Composite Device,not the COM port.

Please verify that you are using the USB connection to the base board, vs an external emulator to the 14-pin connector for your JTAG. The UART back channel relies on the on-board XDS100v1(emulated with the FTDI chip) to realize the UART comms from the MCU to the SFRA GUI. The reason I ask is from your device manager screen shot I don't see the XDS100 emualtor listed either A or B channel.

If you can connect with the on-board emulator and still don't see TI XDS100 Channel B, then let's try to re-program the FTDI using the files/method provided here: https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/21086
