TMS320F280049: VCU versioning discrepancy?

Champs,

There seem to be a discrepancy between VCU versions in documentation (spru566m - c2000 real time control peripherals) and the c2000Ware/CCS. in the documents the VCUs are named VCU-I (f28004x) and VCU-II (f2837x). In the c2000ware codebase as well as in CCS compiler options the VCUs are called vcu0 or vcu2.

Question I have is does VCU-I from documents correspond to vcu0 in code? And VCU-II to vcu2?

I believe your understanding is correct. I have contacted a member of the Compiler team to understand why the terminology is different.

Response from compiler team:

From commit logs, back in 2010, BU requested to change the parameter from originally being eDSP to VCU. I’m assuming the vcu0 was agreed upon as the initial case since it was BU request.

Then commit log for next change in 2012 indicates: VCU-II support and indicates it was to be option vcu2. I’m guessing they realized even though it was the “next” vcu, that it would be confusing to call it sequentially vcu1 since it was roman numeral II…"
