Hello ,

Can anyone tell me how to reverse the direction of PMSM motor. I already know that by changing the wires polarity we can change the direction.

But question is how can we do this using software ? OR we need external circuit to change the direction ?

What example lab/project are you referring? For sensored/sensorless-FOC mode, you don't need to do anything on hardware, only need to set a negative reference speed or negative torque current that will drive the motor with a reverse rotation compare with a positive speed or torque current.
